- What is Chiropractic from the American Chiropractic Association:
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Doctors of Chiropractic – often referred to as chiropractors or chiropractic physicians – practice a drug-free, hands-on approach to health care that includes patient examination, diagnosis and treatment. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises, as well as to provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counseling.
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called “chiropractic adjustment.” The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile – or restricted in their movement – as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
Chiropractic adjustment rarely causes discomfort. However, patients may sometimes experience mild soreness or aching following treatment (as with some forms of exercise) that usually resolves within 12 to 48 hours.
In many cases, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the primary method of treatment. When other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may complement or support medical treatment by relieving the musculoskeletal aspects associated with the condition.
Doctors of chiropractic may assess patients through clinical examination, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging and other diagnostic interventions to determine when chiropractic treatment is appropriate or when it is not appropriate. Chiropractors will readily refer patients to the appropriate health care provider when chiropractic care is not suitable for the patient’s condition, or the condition warrants co-management in conjunction with other members of the health care team.

ADHD Meds May Hike Kids’ Heart Risks
Are ADHD medications safe for children?
“Research released Monday by The American Journal of Psychiatry gives more support to the claim that stimulant drugs usually prescribed for ADHD could increase the risk of sudden unexplained death in children.” CBS news
“On The Early Show Monday, CBS News medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton what the study might mean for the 2.5 million children taking medication for the disorder.
The study found the rate of stimulant use in children and adolescents who died suddenly or from cardiac dysrhythmia was 1.8 percent, compared to 0.4 percent for youth who died as passengers in motor vehicle accidents.”
What is Ritalin?
Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to Ritalin or if you have glaucoma, overactive thyroid, severe high blood pressure, tics or Tourette’s syndrome, angina, heart failure, heart rhythm disorder, recent heart attack, a hereditary condition such as fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency, or severe anxiety, tension, or agitation.
Ritalin may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Never share Ritalin with another person, especially someone with a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a place where others cannot get to it.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222. An overdose of Ritalin can be fatal.
Overdose can cause vomiting, agitation, tremors, muscle twitching, seizure (convulsions), confusion, hallucinations, sweating, fast or pounding heartbeat, blurred vision, dry mouth and nose, and fainting.
What should I avoid while taking Ritalin?
Ritalin may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
Ritalin side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Ritalin: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop taking Ritalin and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
-
fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeats;
-
feeling like you might pass out;
-
fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;
-
aggression, restlessness, hallucinations, unusual behavior, or motor tics (muscle twitches);
- easy bruising, purple spots on your skin; or
- dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats, seizure).
This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

High Blood Pressure:
Atlas vertebra (C1) Realignment Decrease High Blood Pressure
“Anatomical abnormalities of the cervical spine at the level of the Atlas vertebra are associated with relative ischaemia of the brainstem circulation and increased blood pressure (BP). Manual correction of this malalignment has been associated with reduced arterial pressure… We conclude that restoration of Atlas alignment is associated withmarked and sustained reductions in BP similar to the use of two-drug combination therapy.” Dr. George Bakris, MD.

Drinking water for optimum health?!
Everyone knows the importance of drinking water. Our body holds close to 85% of H2O… But today, I want to talk about a subject that is often ignored.
“A hundred thousand people drink water from the same stream for a year, and during that year forty become sick with what is diagnosed as typhoid fever.
Give the why of this from the standpoint of the water – or the germs in the water – being the cause.
Reverse the statistics and say that of a hundred thousand who drank the water, only forty remained alive.
Reason and logic point to the conclusion that in both instances there is an unknown factor, and that the unknown factor in the first instance is the cause of forty cases of typhoid fever, and in the second instance is the cause of forty survivors.
…
Chiropractic teaches this unknown factor is found within, and that the resistance, or the susceptibility, of the individual must be measured in terms of centrifugal force, i.e., vitality or mental impulse.
While other professions are concerned with changing environment to suit the weakened body, Chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to “suit” environment.
This is an explanation of the fundamental difference in theory, art, and practice between Chiropractic and other professions, and an explanation of why Chiropractic succeeds when other methods fail.”1

When was the last time you brushed and flossed your SPINE?
In America, Dentists have done an amazing job of promoting prevention rather than cure and Chiropractors are now moving in the same direction! How many of us have been to our Dentist for a check-up? Back in the day, less than a century ago, this concept was unheard of… why? Because Dentists had no means to prevent tooth decay. They simply took them out once they were rotten… But now, what does the Dentist take? X-rays! By using technology, they are now able to determine the early stage of cavity formation, correct it and send you on your way. How great of a concept, prevention rather than aggressive treatment!! And in the end you end up with a smile on your face & a full set of teeth.
Likewise, Chiropractorshave also implemented the use of X-ray in practice to analyze your spine. This is important because just as everyone has teeth, everyone also has a spine which needs the same type of consideration. We evaluate if your spine is healthy or if degeneration is present and to what extent. The good news is that we can also give a precise estimate on what can be done through our care to enhance your body’s ability to achieve optimal health. We focus on prevention rather than cure. Proper structure of the spine is vital for proper function of your body. If you have signs of degeneration, it will surely affect the nerves that exit at that spinal level which in turn will affect the tissue, muscles, and organs that those nerves innervate. Remember, your body is constantly replacing cells & dead tissues. But you don’t have to worry, because if you have 100% of those life messages from your brain down to the rest of your body, proper information will be distributed to every cell tissues and organs, which will result in optimum health.
